“I’ve been struggling with severe knee pain for the past three years, after a long journey of physiotherapist, chiropractors and many PRP sessions, and not seeing any results, I had all but given up. My sister convinced me to give it one more go and suggested that I see Coach Ben from PRFM. I started in August 2020 with a consultation to discuss injuries, training objectives and movement screening to see what was the cause of the pain. He started the next day with my programming.

My program was basic in the beginning which I was willing to do in order to get back to my fitness journey pain-free. Around six weeks later I started doing workouts with an empty Barbell for the first time in years. The program was designed to take me through everything step-by-step to ensure perfect pain-free movement, which I was very happy about. By January 2021, I hit a PR Front squat of 55kg, Back squat 60 KG and deadlift 75kg all pain- free! Thanks to the Programming of Coach speedy.

Gymnastic

This course has been co-developed by an elite level gymnast. It is  tailored to help coaches, athletes, and any individuals  learn and develop new skills that can be applied to clients and personal functional fitness training.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Points: 20

Attendees will build an understanding of correct Gymnastic movement patterns, the ability to recognise movement faults, develop effective spotting and cueing techniques and the importance of skill progression. This  is a functional gym-based gymnastics program aimed at developing bodyweight strength, movement awareness, mobility, and flexibility. In the realm of functional fitness, all exercises reliant on bodyweight are classified as “Gymnastics,” this includes activities such as pull-ups, burpees, L-sits, handstand push-ups, rope climbs and much more.

Gymnasts are arguably the most comprehensive bodyweight movers on the planet, this gives them a profound understanding of exercise and skill progression. For instance, the path from a basic push up to dips, then advancing to movements like handstand push-ups on parallel bars and rings, highlights their mastery of skill development.
By building upon this knowledge, True Skill adapts gymnastics principles to a functional gym-based environment.
